Why Should You Hire a Professional Photographer?

In today's day & age just about anyone can buy a shiny new camera, create a pretty website and call themselves a "professional". But please take a minute to read on and find out why it is so important to hire a TRUE professional for your wedding and/or portraits. There are many different characteristics that distinguish the EXPERIENCED Professional from Uncle Joe or the best friend with a nice new camera!
  • Talent, Experience and Consistency - The professional photographer brings both talent AND experience to handle most shooting situations. Consistency also is something the Pro brings to the table. This goes hand-in-hand with knowing his equipment and having the talent and experience to achieve the correct results time after time. For example: the professional will not have to delete 10 of the 11 files because they weren't the correct exposure, or they may have been out of focus...just to name a couple.
  • Lighting & Posing - Many so-called "photographers" will struggle with lighting and awkward posing. Both are basic fundamentals of portraiture, yet they are commonly the most overlooked and not mastered by the weekend hobbyist. A professional KNOWS how to manipulate the light and pose you in a way that is the most flattering to you!
  • Knowing their Equipment - Anyone today can buy a nice big camera, but knowing how to use it CORRECTLY and CREATIVELY takes both time and experience, and let's face it, some "photographers" simply do not have the artistic eye to give you the results you were after even if they do master HOW to use their camera.
  • Professionalism - Pro Photographers are true business owners as well as artists. You will be treated with the utmost care from start to finish. The hobbyist will take your photos, hand you a cd and be done. The professional will spend many hours going thru the images...creatively cropping, retouching, color correcting and enhancing them so you will have a beautiful gallery of images to choose from. Which brings me to my final point.....
  • Printed Works of Art vs. Digital Files - The Professional will translate your digital files into priceless artwork for you to touch, feel and admire everyday. What happens if you only purchase a cd of your wedding from the hobbyist, only to find that after a year of telling yourself you were going to make an album....you pull out the cd to discover that the disk is damaged! And they didn't keep any original files and/or they are out of business?? Your wedding images could be lost forever! This is why it is SO important in the end to hire a professional that will not only back-up your files, but has an established business as well as a reputation of taking these EXTREMELY important points seriously.

The bottom line is, everyone has to start somewhere but When you've got one shot to get it right....
there's no substitute for a Professional!

PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY IS NOT EXPENSIVE....IT IS TRULY PRICELESS!
